SS Frank Rockefeller laid down

On 19 November 1895, 'Whaleback' ship SS Frank Rockefeller 's keel was laid at the American Steel Barge Company (ASB) at their yard in Superior, Wisconsin. She would be renamed 'South Park' in 1927, and finally 'Meteor' in 1942, when she was sold to the Cleveland Tanker Company, and converted to a tanker. It was at this time that she obtained the name Meteor, as Cleveland Tanker named their vessels after celestial bodies.
