USS Tang (SS-563) launched

75 years ago today, on 19 June 1951 Tang-class submarine USS Tang (SS-563) was launched at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard sponsored by Mrs. Ernestine O'Kane, the wife of Richard H. O'Kane.
She was leased (later sold) to Turkey on 8 February 1980 as TCG Pirireis (S343), and is now a museum ship in Izmir, Turkey.
