Huáscar leaves for Peru

160 years ago today, on 20 January 1866, ironclad turret ship Huáscar left England for Peru, commanded by Chilean Captain José María Salcedo, Naval Officer in Peruvian Government's service, who had supervised construction at Laird Brothers yard, on behalf of the Peruvian Navy
