SAS Johanna van der Merwe S99 laid down

56 years ago today, on 24 April 1969 Daphne-class submarine  SAS Johanna van der Merwe S99 was laid down at Dubigeon-Normandy Shipyard, Nantes France. She was renamed SAS Assegaai in 1999, and is now a MuseumShip in Simon's Town, South Africa.
