USS Eversole (DD-789) commissioned
80 years ago today, on 10 May 1946 Gearing-class destroyer USS Eversole DD-789 was commissioned with, Commander B. P. Ross in command. She was transferred to Turkey as TCG Gayre - (D-352) on 11 July 1973.
