Wisconsin (BB-64) fires at Iraqi artillery

6 February 1991, Iowa-class battleship  USS Wisconsin (BB-64) sends 11 shells across 19 mi (31 km) of space to destroy an Iraqi artillery battery in southern Kuwait during a mission called in by USMC OV-10 Bronco aircraft.

Pender County struck

On 6 February 1959 LST-542-class USS Pender County (LST-1080) was struck from the Naval Vessel Register.
She was transferred to South Korea in 1959 as ROKS Hwa San (LST-816) ans is now a museum ship, on display alongside ROKS Jeon Ju (DD 925) (former USS Rogers - DD-876) at SapKyoHo National Sightseeing Resort, located at Dangjin-Gun, Chung Nam Province.
