AM-483 laid down

72 years ago today, on 19 February 1952, AM-480-class fleet minesweeper AM-483 was laid down by Peterson Builders Inc., Sturgeon Bay, WI. She was transferred to the Netherlands as HNLMS Onverschrokken (M886) under MDAP, later renamed HNLMS Mercuur and is now a museum ship in Vlissingen, Netherlands.

Flore flooded

February 19 1971, French Daphne-class submarine Flore partially flooded off Toulon due to a malfunction with her periscope. Tugs Pachyderme and Travailleur towed her back to Toulon.

Rogers decommissioned

45 years ago today, on 19 February 1981 Gearing-class destroyer USS Rogers (DD-876) was decommissioned.
She was transferred to South Korea as ROKS Jeon Ju (DD-925) on 25 July 1981, and is now a museum ship at SapKyoHo National Sightseeing Resort, located at Dangjin-Gun, Chung Nam Province, South Korea.
