Kya launched

On 20 February 1964 Norwegian Kobben-class submarine Kya - S317 was launched at Rheinstahl-Nordseewerke in Emden, Germany.
She was transfered to Denmark as Springeren - S324 on 17 October 1991.

Charette laid down

On 20 February 1942, Fletcher-class destroyer USS Charette (DD-581) was laid down at the Boston Navy Yard. she was named for Lieutenant George Charrette (1867–1938), who was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism during the Spanish–American War.
Charette was transferred to the Kingdom of Greece in 1959 and renamed Velos (D16). Velos remained in service until 1991 and was then turned into a museum ship at Palaio Faliro, near Athens. (temporarily in Thessaloniki)

Yorktown CV-10 recommissioned

On 20 February 1953, Essex-class aircraft carrier USS Yorktown CV-10 was recommissioned with Captain William M. Nation in command, after 6 years in the Pacific Reserve Fleet at Bremerton.
