81 years ago today, on May 28 1943, Tacoma-class patrol frigate USS Glendale (PF-36) was launched at Consolidated Steel Corporation, Wilmington, California, sponsored by Miss Shirley Schlichtman. Transferred to Thailand as HTMS Tachin (PF-1) on 29 October 1951, where she is now a museum ship at the Thai Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School, Nakhon Nayok, Thailand.
