USS Rogers struck

On 1 October 1980, Gearing-class destroyer USS Rogers (DD-876) was struck from the Naval Vessel Register.
She was transferred to South Korea as ROKS Jeon Ju (DD-925) on 25 July 1981, and is now a museum ship at SapKyoHo National Sightseeing Resort, located at Dangjin-Gun, Chung Nam Province, South Korea

HMAS Abraham Crijnssen commissioned

On 28 September 1942, Jan van Amstel-class minesweeper HNLMS Abraham Crijnssen was commissioned into Australian Navy as HMAS Abraham Crijnssen, Lieutenant Arthur Irwin Chapman, RANR in command. She was reclassified as an anti-submarine convoy escort, and was also used as a submarine tender for the Dutch submarines that relocated to Australia following the Japanese conquest.
