USS Ainsworth (DE-1090) laid down
54 years ago today, on 11 June 1971 Knox-class frigate USS Ainsworth (DE-1090) was laid down at Avondale Shipyard, Westwego LA.
She was transferred to Turkey on May 27, 1994 as TCG Ege (F256), and is now a museum ship in Izmir, Turkey
