USS Gudgeon (SS-567) launched

On 11 June 1952 Tang-class submarine USS Gudgeon (SS-567) was launched at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, sponsored by Mrs. Robert A. Bonin. She was leased (later sold) to Turkey as TCG Hizireis (S342), and is now a museum ship in Izmit, Turkey.
